‘Friend of CAGP’ Award, 2021
The Canadian Association of Gift Planners (CAGP) recognized Abundance Canada CEO, Darren Pries-Klassen, with the ‘Friend of CAGP’ Award at their AGM held online May 20, 2021. Since 1993, only 50 people have received this award.
The award is given to those who demonstrate a high regard for the profession, operate in an exemplary and ethical manner, have dedicated their energy for the benefit of CAGP and its members, and have made significant contributions to CAGP’s mission and the advancement of strategic charitable giving in Canada.
“I am deeply honoured and humbled to receive this award”, said Pries-Klassen.
Pries-Klassen served on the national board of CAGP for seven years – two as chair. He also served on the CAGP Foundation board for three years, two of those as chair. “I am deeply honoured and humbled to receive this award”, said Pries-Klassen. “It speaks not only to my contribution to the sector but also that of Abundance Canada. This affirms our place as a national voice for strategic gift planning in Canada.”
CAGP is the only Canadian professional association that brings together charitable gift planners, fundraisers and professional advisors. With over one thousand members and twenty local chapters across Canada, CAGP has been instrumental in advocating for the creation of tax legislation that benefits both donors and charities, as well as training and educating people in all matters pertaining to charitable gift planning.
