Kari Pries

Dr. Kari Pries is Senior Manager, Geopolitics, at the Public Sector Pension Investment Board (PSP Investments) and heads development of the organization's geopolitical strategy.

Prior to joining PSP Investments, Kari served as Counselor for Canada on the Inter-American Development Bank’s Board of Executive Directors in Washington, DC, where she oversaw sovereign lending operations, institutional strategy, and governance of the IDB’s innovation and venture capital platform, IDB Lab. She previously spent a decade in Economics and Country Risk at IHS Markit (now S&P Global). She also has held advisory roles with the Government of Canada and the International Organization for Migration (IOM).

Passionate about community development, Kari currently is a board member of a local revitalization project in Quebec City and previously sat on the borough community council. She also has consulted with development, girls empowerment, and veterans organizations. For fun, Kari convinces her family on the merits of extended hikes and camping.
