A Fund Designed for Charities
Charity Partners establish their own Charity Partnership Fund (CPF), which is invested in Abundance Canada’s Consolidated Trust Fund (CTF), managed by Cardinal Capital Management Inc. The program is designed to support Canadian registered charities with gift acceptance, fund accounting, fund investment, and predictable and sustainable disbursement activities. It features low barriers to access, low fees, flexibility and a strong commitment to quality and ethical investment. By pooling resources, charities benefit from better investment opportunities, lower management costs, and reduced financial risk.
Consolidated Trust Fund
The CTF investment structure is regarded as the industry gold standard for its performance and liquidity (the ease of which funds can be accessed or converted to cash without significant loss in value.) Abundance Canada’s CTF pool is comprised of a mix of dividend-yielding securities and fixed income investment with a target annual rate of return of 6-9% (net of fees). The fund is managed by Cardinal Capital Management Inc., a national investment management firm headquartered in Winnipeg, MB, with over 30 years of proven results and current assets under management of $4.5 billion.
Charity Partnership Fund Features
Transparent Fund Fees
Charities pay a maximum annual fee of 1.3% of their fund’s value, which includes up to a 0.6% administrative fee and up to a 0.7% investment management fee. Administrative fees are tiered based on the fund’s value and will decrease as the individual fund's balance passes specific thresholds. The investment management fees will decrease as the collective value of the CTF passes specific thresholds (culminating in a fee of 0.4% once the fund passes $100M in managed assets).
Total Fund Flexibility
Charity Partners have total discretion to request disbursements from their fund to themselves.
